You Need a Mess of Help to Stand Alone
The title is taken from an EP by one of my favorite bands, Saint Etienne. I believe it was also the title of a Beach Boys song.
Camera used was a Pentax K20D, lens used was a vintage M42, Single-Coated, Manual Focus "Leatherette" Carl Zeiss Pancolar 50mm f2.
The leatherette Pancolar is the first generation of Carl Zeiss Pancolar; it features a distinctive look with a leather type focusing ring. The leatherette Pancolar in M42 mount is a very rare bird. Most of the Pancolar lenses produced at this time were manufactured in the Exakta mount. I was lucky enough to find one while resale shopping in Chicago.
The Pancolar was preceded by the Carl Zeiss Flexon, the Flexon was preceded by the Carl Zeiss Biotar. The Biotar, Flexon and Pancolar are all Double-Gaussian designs.
Shot in RAW, then converted in Apple Aperture and then fine tuned in Adobe Photoshop.
